Greater Philadelphia Gardens has released its own 2012 Guide to Cherry Trees.
The cherry tree guide provides beautiful photographs and lists places where more than 50 types and 1,000 total cherry trees can be seen in bloom now and throughout the spring. The trees can be found at 17 participating Greater Philadelphia Gardens. The guide also lists upcoming cherry blossom events celebrating the centennial anniversary of the Japanese gift of cherry trees to America in Greater Philadelphia Gardens.
“We want to share some of the region’s history and highlights of the significant and diverse collection of beautiful cherry trees in Greater Philadelphia Gardens,” said Louise Eliason, Greater Philadelphia Gardens’ coordinator.
The Greater Philadelphia Gardens Cherry Tree Guide is free and downloadable from its website on www.GreaterPhiladelphiaGardens.org.
With more than 2,500 beautiful cherry trees in bloom in greater Philadelphia, why travel anywhere else?
