Share

If you spend the summer anticipating the festivities and fireworks of the Fourth, you won’t be disappointed this year. From the extravagant displays at Longwood Gardens to the annual show in downtown Rehoboth, the Brandywine Valley has spectacular fireworks events guaranteed to light up your Independence Day.

The fireworks display at Longwood Gardens is set this year to the music of John Philip Sousa, most famous for his composition “Stars and Stripes Forever.” Admission is $38 for ages 16 and up, and $22 for anyone 15 or younger. Fireworks begin at 9:15pm.

The Rehoboth Beach fireworks are visible from the boardwalk or the beachfront and are a major attraction for downtown Rehoboth every year. The community-sponsored display begins around 9:15pm.

Smaller towns across the valley are hosting their own displays. Fireworks for the Wilmington area are at the Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park. Festivities, including live music, take place from 4-10pm, and fireworks will begin at dusk. Downington hosts a free fireworks display around 9:30pm in Kerr Park as part of its Good Neighbor Day. Phoenixville is hosting a fireworks show from Friendship Field, beginning around 9pm. Tredyffrin Township, just outside of King of Prussia, has live music from 7:15-9:15pm with fireworks beginning at dusk. The Tredyffrin display takes place at Wilson Farm Park.
