The Brandywine River Museum’s 40th annual Antiques Show features 31 outstanding antiques dealers from across the country. American and English furniture, glassware, metalware, ceramics, folk art, quilts, Oriental and European porcelain, rugs, and other fine collectibles fill the Museum Courtyard, the second and third floor mill galleries, and the Museum Lecture Room.
Discerning buyers have a chance to learn more as the dealers give 30-minute lectures throughout the weekend on topics such as “What is Folk Art” to “Shaped Front Furniture Traditions.”
The show opens with a preview reception from 6pm to 9pm on May 27. For tickets, call 610.388.8318.
On May 28 Catherine Dann Roeber, curator “Seeing Red: Southeastern Pennsylvania Earthenware from Winterthur,” gives a special tour of the exhibit. A continental breakfast is available at 9am and the tour starts at 9:30am; cost is $25 and includes breakfast, the tour, and admission to the antiques show.
The antiques show hours are 10am to 5pm. Admission is $12 per person. For more information, call 610.388.2700 or visit www.brandywinemuseum.org.
