You?re not in Chester County anymore with Brandywine Ballet‘s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
The Ballet company performs the classic tale of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with a bit of a twist. Nancy Page, who wowed audiences with her recent presentations of Beauty & the Beast and Dracula, choreographs the performance. Audiences are transported to Oz and follow Dorothy down the Yellow Brick Road. Follow Dorothy, performed by Caitlin Oeste and Emma Yasick, as she meets the Scarecrows, Tim Early and Eleanor Whittum, Tin Man and Tin Woman, Alex DiMattia and Sara McAveney, and the Cowardly Lions, Barrette Powell and Lauren Sekela. Page adds a unique twist to the performance by turning the traditional male roles of Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion into female roles. It adds a refreshingly modern feminine perspective.
Wonder if Dorothy will make it to Emerald City, or will the Wicked Witch stop her from getting home? You?re going to need to see the show. Tickets run from $25 to $40. Tickets and a complete schedule are available by phone at 610.696.2711, or by online.
