The art community is abuzz about the revival of the this arts festival, which had been perennially ranked among the top 100 art shows in the nation and had boasted a 50-year tradition.

Just two weeks after it was created, the festival’s Facebook page collected 1100 friends. Barry Schlecker, the show’s new promoter, is also the promoter of the Newark Film Festival, and he has experience running antique shows.

The festival itself will feature hundreds of juried artists from more than 30 states displaying their works. Both the casual consumer and the avid collector can find a piece of quality, original artwork at a variety of pricepoints. Music and food complete the fun.

The festival, which takes place in Wilmington at Brandywine Park along the banks of the Brandywine River, runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is $5 and children are free. For more information, call 302-690-5555 or visit brandywinearts.com
