After the Thanksgiving turkey is finished and you?ve polished off that last piece of pumpkin pie, take a break from the feasting and stretch your legs by walking around historic Brandywine Battlefield Park on Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford.
Saturday, November 24 is Patriot’s Day, where Continental soldiers will be camped, General George Washington himself will give a lecture and dozens of Colonial settlers and demonstrations will be on hand to give you a taste of life back in the late 1700s. Black Continental soldier Ned Hector will be there, along with re-enactors giving demonstrations of open camp fire cooking and musket drilling. They?ll accompany an 18th-century blacksmith, gunsmith and carpenter and guides giving tours of Washington’s Headquarters.
For a historic, exciting weekend, please join us at Brandywine Battlefield Park Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is open to the public. For more information, visit www.brandywinebattlefield.org or call the park directly at 610.459.3342.
