Andrew Wyeth’s granddaughter, Victoria Wyeth, will provide insight into her family’s art and private collection as part of the 65th Annual Chadds Ford Art Sale & Show. In addition, she will be signing copies of Andrew Wyeth: Autobiography by Thomas Hoving.
The Chadds Ford Art Sale & Show, which Andrew Wyeth’s wife Betsy started in 1949, features works by more than 70 professional artists from the Brandywine Valley and beyond. J. Wayne Bystrom is the featured artist. The donating artist is Shawn Faust.
The ?Artisan Showcase? runs from 10am to 4pm and has hand-crafted jewelry, wooden items and food samples available for sale by area vendors.
An ?Art Tour? is scheduled, where guides provide insight into the art collection at Chadds Ford Elementary School. The collection includes pieces from artists prominent in the inception and foundation of the Brandywine Tradition and those who further defined the artistic heritage of the area. This event is free and runs from 1-2pm.
The ?Art Café? is also open from 10am to 3 pm, where children ages five to 12 can create their own masterpiece in an ?art studio? atmosphere. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis; costs vary based on age and project selection.
