Children’s Beach House (CBH) will be celebrating a few milestones during this year’s Beach Barbecue. First, the Beach Barbecue itself is celebrating its 10th Anniversary, while CBH is celebrating 75 years of service to children and families throughout the state of Delaware.
Lydia Chichester du Pont founded Children’s Beach House to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. Since that time, CBH has served children with polio, cerebral palsy, and a variety of mild orthopedic conditions. Today, while the programs have changed to address the needs of children in the 21st century, the mission remains constant.
The program stresses three underlying principles: young people need a set of core assets or values to move successfully through adolescence and into adulthood; families are the most fundamental factors influencing young people; and families are strong when safe and thriving communities support them.
Join Wilmington Trust and Jack Lingo Realtor in celebrating these great milestones at the Beach Barbecue on Saturday, August 25, 2012, from 6:30pm ? 9:30pm The event will be held at CBH located at 1800 Bay Avenue in Lewes.
