Art is not only good for the soul, but for the whole body as well! Thankfully, the Delaware Art Museum appreciates this connection.
The Creative Powers: Selections from Art Ability showcases 50 pieces of art, ranging in a variety of different medias, styles, and subjects. All the artwork is courtesy of Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital and all of the artists have some type of disability.
The exhibit is guest curated by Susanna Saunders, Curator and Collections Manager at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital. Saunders describes the purpose of the exhibit as “increasing awareness of what disable people can accomplish by reaching beyond their limitations to find fulfillment through the creative process.”
In conjunction with the Delaware Art Museum’s ongoing Outlooks Exhibition Series, this exhibit highlights a continuing commitment to community involvement. The Outlooks Exhibition Series is currently accepting proposals from organizations, community groups, and residents of the surrounding area for upcoming exhibits.
