The Delaware Center for Horticulture welcomes guests to a fantastic evening in Trolley Square September 19, for the Food & Flora Progressive Garden Tour & Dinner.
The evening promises a delightful mix of culinary and horticultural treats in three unique landscapes that homeowners have graciously opened to you. Their hospitality and gardening expertise ensures that your visit will be educational and inspiring.
The event takes place from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, and include a three course meal of treats and gardens. For an appetizer, the tour begins at the past president of the Garden State Garden Club’s home. The home is about 83 years old and boasts 80-year-old Deutzias,a large pond, patio, and perennial beds. The main course follows with the family home of the designer of the native gardens of the Brandywine River Museum, who is the Cornell Plantation’s horticulturalist today. The dessert pairs with sights of an ornamental garden with an umbrella pine, spice bush, heavenly bamboo, lace leaf maple, crape myrtle, hydrangea, and magnolia.
