Delaware Nature Society Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Share

Thanks, in large part, to the Delaware Nature Society, residents of the state have been able to enjoy peace and tranquility for 50 years. Founded in 1964, the Society has been working to improve its surroundings through advocacy, conservation, and education.

This year, the Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Among many events being held to commemorate this historic year, perhaps the most anticipated is the 50th Anniversary Party. The event takes place at the Coverdale Farm Preserve, located at 543 Way Road, Greenville, DE 19807.

The menu for the night consists of hot hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine. The festivities include a live auction, a giving tree, and a vote for the photo finalists of the Delaware Nature Photo Contest. These digital photographs, collected by the Society, feature themes such as wildlife and landscapes. The winners will be featured in the 2015 Society calendar. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online. Registration closes on Tuesday, September 23.
