Join the Zwaanedael Museum as it combines desserts from the 1700s and history in “Sweet Endings: 18th-Century Desserts.” Presented by historic-site interpreter Barbara Carrow, the program features the creation of original 18th-century desserts such as Maryland cobblestones cookies, peppermint drops, whiskey nut-balls, and shaped marzipan. Carrow will also discuss techniques for cooking and baking in an open hearth.
Sweet Endings” is the third installment of “Savory Sussex,” a seven-part, monthly series of programs on the unique local flavors of Sussex County. Admission is free and open to the public but reservations must be made by calling 302-645-1148 no later than Monday, December 5, 2011. Seating is limited.
