Share

Ride in style. Pass fields of green at 300 horsepower. Watch the country whiz by. End the ride by tasting of the finest wines made from Italian and Pennsylvania vines. It’s time to slow down to enjoy the scenery and the high-class atmosphere.

The Penns Woods Winery holds its first annual “Ferraris, Vines, and Wines” car show and wine festival August 6 from noon to 5pm. The event showcases and judges more than 20 Ferraris on display, with five prizes to be awarded. The winery is also featuring some of its own Penns Woods wines while hosting four other wineries from the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail.

The event is a perfect blend of distinctive Italian-made cars and a winery with distinctive Italian roots – Penns Woods was begun by Gino Razzi, who is originally from the southern Italy town of Abruzzo.

“We’ve been thinking about [the event] all year round,” said Carley Razzi, the VP of Marketing and the founder’s daughter. “We had a wine festival in May where we benefited a Pennsylvania children’s hospital, and we like to help an organization with our family.”

The Razzis hold a charity auction at this event, featuring prizes ranging from a three liter bottle of Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano to designer handbags to rare Mario Andretti trading cards. All proceeds from this auction benefit The Little Rock Foundation, aiding children who are blind or visually impaired.

Also, the car show includes the work of artist Sarah Russell, authentic Italian food from Talluto”s, go carts from Berg Toys USA for children and adults, balsamic vinegars and real Italian olive oil from Lacetaia di Alfredo, and more.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $5 for children and designated drivers, free for those who bring a Ferrari. Start your engines for a taste of Italy.
