Why not surprise your mother with a beautiful arrangement of flowers and benefit children at the same time? The annual Wilmington Flower Market takes place May 5, 6, and 7 from 10am to 7pm in Rockford Park.
The three-day event, a 91-year-old tradition, really is a family fair, complete with rides, games, food, entertainment, and more. Arts and crafts, merchants’ stalls and, of course, all types of flowers and plant ensure that you’ll find the perfect gift for mom.
Several pre-events lead up to the market, including Dine for Flower Market, Flower Market Poster Print, and the Wilmington Blue Rocks Baseball game. As of today, the Flower Market has raised $ 5 million dollars.
Founded by Mrs. A. Felix du Pont in 1921 to benefit a summer camp and a hospital for babies, the Flower Market now benefits more than 70 organizations, including Exceptional Care for Children, Camp Possibilities, and Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington. To date, the Flower Market has raised $5 million dollars.
