The best part of Christmas morning is the joy of giving and receiving, sharing uninterrupted time with each other, and having a day dedicated to family. Children are free to romp and yell in unrestrained glee.
The Delaware Theatre Company‘s eighth annual toy drive is dedicated to preserving that golden moment of childhood. When a child wakes up without excitement and anticipation, they miss out on the holly jolly spirit of the day.
Everyone can help make those memories by supporting Children & Families First, a nonprofit social service agency that strengthens families and communities by providing quality social, educational and mental health services. The agency distributes the generous gifts to their clients who are in foster care, low-income families or participating in family education programs.
The Delaware Theatre Company is the Brandywine Valley’s premier theater, with 30 years of quality performances. They are accepting new, unwrapped presents for girls and boys from infants to 14 years of age. Donations can be dropped off at the theater on Wilmington’s Riverfront through December 19 from 9am to 5pm and 8pm on performance days. The Company is performing Around the World in 80 Days during the toy drive. For tickets or information about the toy drive, call the theater at 302.594.1100 or visit them online at www.delawaretheatre.org.
