Take a breathtaking visual journey at the Hardcastle Gallery, site of Pulitzer Prize-nominated photographer Jim Graham’s exhibit, “Island: An Exploration of Nantucket & Iceland.” The exhibition runs February 5-27 between the hours of 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Monday-Friday and 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Saturday. An opening reception takes place February 5 from 5:30-8:30 PM.
“The trip away from home and the immersion in an area, a place or experience gives great freedom,” Graham has stated. “I can simply forget about the day-to-day ‘have-to”s” – and there is, at that moment, the opportunity to find the enhorabuena, which is Spanish for the goodness of a special moment and the joy of being part of it.”
Graham’s work has been described as “sensuous and emotional” by Creative Visual Artist John Paul Caponigro. “Graham’s photographs are the products of a consummate professional who loves his craft and his subjects. The journey you take when you encounter Graham’s images is always moving.”
