Kennett Square Halloween Parade

The Kennett Area Merchants and Restaurant Association (KARMA) and Historic Kennett Square announce the 9th Annual Halloween Parade and related activities in downtown Kennett Square.

The parade date and time have changed for this popular event, and will now be held on Sunday, October 28 at 3pm.  Due to the possibility of Hurricane Sandy, the festivities, including a modified parade, will be held inside the American Legion Hall. Immediately following the parade, the public is invited to participate in family-friendly Halloween festivities at the American Legion Hall at East State and South Broad Street.

The festivities will continue and the community is invited to view the decorated pumpkin contest and children in costume will receive a trick or treat bag.

For those who would like to march in the parade, application forms can be found at www.historickennettsquare.com/halloween.  To be considered for prizes, individuals and groups will need to display their number to the judges.  1st Place trophies will be awarded to for the following categories:  FUNNIEST, SCARIEST, BEST KID, BEST ADULT, BEST PET, BEST ACT (Performance), BEST GROUP, and BEST FLOAT. Winners will be announced at the American Legion following the parade and on the Historic Kennett Square website.

GET CRAFTY, KIDS!!!

Children ages 3 – 14 are invited to enter their Uncarved Decorated Pumpkins in the Kennett Square Pumpkin Contest. Drop off your pumpkin at the East State Street entrance to the American Legion between noon and 2pm on Sunday, October 28 before the Halloween Parade for judging. Complete an entry form to be displayed with your pumpkin. Categories are FUNNIEST, SCARIEST, MOST CREATIVE, and MOST KENNETT SQUARE. Prizes will be awarded following the parade and pumpkins must be picked up by 5pm that day.
