The Oxford Arts Alliance hosts a free concert featuring the Serafin String Quartet.
Debuting in 2004 to a sell-out crowd at New York City’s Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Serafin String Quartet’s varied lecture-recitals feature Beethoven, Mozart, Bartok, Interpreting New Music, Romanticism, and Chamber Music, among other noted pieces.
Kate Ransom, Timothy Schwarz, Ana Tsinadze, and Lawrence Stomberg comprise the quartet that the New York Concert Review praised for its “excellent music making … uncommonly fine interpretation.”
The Serafin String Quartet is the University of Delaware’s “Quartet in Residence,” serving as coaches for students involved with the various music programs at the university, as well as giving performances. Centaur Records recently released the quartet’s first commercial CD, which is now available internationally.
The concert will be held at the Oxford Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Pa. Donations benefiting the Oxford Art Alliance will be accepted. For more information, visit www.oxfordart.org or call 610.467.0301.
