Just how cold can the Brandywine River be on February 12?
You can find out and do a good deed at the same time — not to mention earn bragging rights — by participating in the 4th annual Brandywine Polar Plunge. The event raises awareness of and supports the conservation work in the 330 square miles that comprise the Brandywine watershed.
The Polar Plunge, held at the Brandywine Picnic Park in West Chester (Rts. 52 & 100) is organized by the Brandywine Valley Association, a group formed in 1945 with 30 members. Today, this 800-member organization works to preserve and protect the picturesque creek that characterizes the Brandywine Valley.
