Chocoholics rejoice! That time of year has arrived; the Kennett Chocolate Lovers Festival is back.
Professional bakers, chefs, and caters, as well amateur chocolatiers and students (aged 12 and up), and their chocolate creations, will compete for ribbons and bragging rights at Kennett High School. In 2013, nearly 200 cookies, candies, brownies, cakes, and cupcakes were judged.
There is no fee to compete, and following the judging, taste-testers can enter to try all entries for $5 (includes six tastings) from 1-4pm. Attendees can also purchase local, handmade Valentine’s Day gifts from vendors while searching for the perfect chocolate treat. Proceeds from the event benefit the United Way of Southern Chester County and the 32 programs it funds.
