Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance

First-class antique and rare cars, horses and hounds are among the highlights of the Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance, which also includes a barbecue and black tie gala.

 

Brandywine Festival of the Arts

Sept. 7-8, Wilmington, Del.

First held in 1961, the Brandywine Festival of the Arts features 250 artists. The juried artists—who work in everything from painting to photography to jewelry to leather goods—will gather for the two-day event which also features live music and food vendors.

 

Mushroom Festival

The Mushroom Capital of the World celebrates everyone’s favorite fungi with the annual Mushroom Festival, complete with a parade, carnival and more.

 

Brandywine Valley Restaurant Week

Sept. 9-14, Various locations

Dine at one of the 17 participating restaurants during this foodie week for special prix-fixe menus. Participants include Agave Mexican Cuisine, Brandywine Prime, Columbus Inn, Harry’s Savoy Grill, Krazy Kat’s and many more.

Catch Me If You Can

Sept. 14 – Oct. 20, Wilmington, Del.

Enjoy dinner and a show as the Candlelight Theater puts on its latest show, Catch Me If You Can. Based on the popular movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, this musical rendition follows Frank Abagnale, Jr. as he cons his way around the globe. In hot pursuit is FBI agent Carl Hanratty. Heart and hilarity ensue in this can’t-miss show.

 

Chadds Ford Days

Celebrate the region’s history, dating back to the Revolutionary War, at Chadds Ford Days. The two-day event features reenactments, craft vendors, kids activities and more.

 

Chester County Restaurant Festival

Sept. 26, West Chester, Pa.

Now in its 39thyear, the Chester County Restaurant Festival takes over Gay Street once more. Over 65 restaurants, plus 110 vendors, will gather in West Chester to celebrate the region’s culinary prowess. There will also be live music, plus a beer and wine garden.

 

Hagley Car Show

Sept. 15, Wilmington, Del.

Over 500 antique and restored cars will take over the grounds of Hagley Museum for its car show. Visitors can peruse vehicles that date back to the early 20thcentury, enjoy a parade, pedal car race and more.

 

Plantation Field International

Sept. 19-22, Unionville, Pa.

Plantation Field International returns to Unionville, bringing with it world-class equestrians and family fun. This year’s events also include a fun run and an antique car show.

 

Kennett Brewfest

Sept. 28, Kennett Square, Pa.

Celebrate Oktoberfest Kennett Square style, with this annual event in which over 100 breweries will converge on the borough. In addition to rare and seasonal suds, there will also be food, live music and vendors.
