Continuing the tradition of spreading holiday cheer for a great cause, Christ Church Christiana celebrates its 60th annual Green Show. At the show’s earliest beginnings, women from the community came together to sell various holiday greens, including topiaries and wreaths. Initially, it was a small community gathering that took place at the beginning of the holiday season.
More than 100 parishioners and outside vendors offer everything from food to speciality gifts. On Saturday, many family activities take place, including cookie decorating and lunch with Santa!
“It’s a tradition of people getting together in fellowship for charities,” said Martha Bolling, the chair of this year’s Green Show. “Last year, we raised more than $90,000. What a wonderful opportunity to give to the community at Christmastime!”
Want to check out the event before everyone else? The Green Show’s Preview Party takes place on November 30 from 6-9pm. Food and refreshments will be served.
The Green Show proceeds benefit local charities including those that serve the youth and various social services in Delaware. Admission is free on Saturday and $30 on Friday. For more information, visit christchurchde.org/parishlife/greenshow.asp.
