“Wedding Traditions of the du Pont Family, 1813-1915”

Span a century of wedding traditions of one of the most prominent American families, the du Pont family. Visitors will get a look into how intimate family ceremonies were transformed into elaborate and formal celebrations during the 19th and 20th centuries. Items on display include pearl jewelry, orange blossom hair decorations, bridal portraits, and wedding dresses, among other memorabilia.

This exhibit will be on display in the du Point family ancestral home Eleutherian Mills on Saturday, March 12. The exhibit is included in the regular admission and tour and is free for members. Use Hagley’s main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware.
