If you want to do something special for this year’s Mother’s Day, take your family and celebrate it at the Willowdale Steeplechase horse race in Kennett Square.
The Willowdale Steeplechase is a non-profit organization that hosts a day of world-class steeplechase racing as a charity event to benefit organizations, such as The Stroud Water Research Center, The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine New Bolton Center and Quest Therapeutic Services, Inc.
This fun event, which is enjoyed by more than 10.000 people, offers activities for the whole family. Besides the thrilling steeplechase, there is a tailgate competition, Jack Russell and pony races, an antique and unique car display, a Kid’s Alley, and many other entertainment options.
Tickets for this event are on sale now. Reserved patron tailgate parking admission packages are available. Member’s Hill offers premiere viewing of the finish line and four admission tickets for $450. The Water Jump West parking section includes four admission tickets and offers excellent viewing of Willowdale’s signature water jump for $375. The Turn parking includes four tickets for $250 and is centrally located with spectacular views of the home stretch and the paddock area. The Field parking includes four tickets at $175 and provides great tailgating with a panoramic view of the racecourse from its location high on the hillside. The amphitheater-style layout of Willowdale allows for 90 percent viewing of the racecourse from all parking areas.
General tickets are $25 in advance or $30 per person on race day. Children under 12 are always free. People with official handicapped access permits will be provided with a reserved parking space with a special cost of $30, which includes one ticket.
