Women Swing the Mallets

Share

The women take over the club this weekend as four top women’s teams from the mid-Atlantic region come to the Brandywine Polo Club for the fifth annual East Coast Women’s Tournament.

Friday night starting at 5pm the BPC will host two games:

Game 1: Friday 5pm — Mercer Hill Farm, an experienced home team captained by Brandywine’s own Dr. Cindy Buchanan  together with returning Dutch polo sensation Natasha Boecher, takes on a tough, young 2011 Intercollegiate Champion Cornell team. This game will be good. Cornell alumni get in free!

Game 2: Friday 6:15 — Dr. Maureen Hall has recruited current and former intercollegiate players from Colorado State and UCONN to build a well-balanced team which will play in her signature purple jerseys and will square off with Maryland Polo and two of the top women polo coaches in the country, Kelly Wells and Cindy Halle.  You won’t have to wait until the 4th for the fireworks this year!

As this is part of Brandywine Polo’s Twilight Polo series, the post-game fun includes live music, food, and wine for sale.

The finals will be on Sunday at 3pm and the consolation final will follow immediately thereafter.

Come out and support these women players and see why women players are the fastest-growing segment in the sport of polo!
