The Brandywine Polo Club hosts a benefit match for the Work To Ride program, which uses horsemanship to engage disadvantaged urban youth in constructive activities.
Although the 16-year-old nonprofit program has received many accolades, including being featured in Sports Illustrated and highlighted on HBO’s “Real Sports,” the economic climate in recent years has been challenging for the organization.
“I have worked with this program over the last 10 years and can attest to the many good things they are doing for these important young people,” said Scott Brown, president of the Brandywine Polo Club.
Last year, the Brandywine Polo Club held a similar benefit match for Work to Ride that raised $21,000, and it hopes to best that number this year. The match takes place at the Brandywine Polo Club grounds in Toughkenamon, Pa.
The post-game cocktail reception is $50, match sponsorships are $500, and donations of any amount are welcome.
